Our monthly community coalition meetings provide an opportunity to network, coordinate and discuss the delivery of prevention and prevention-related services in Port Angeles.

There are four active member-led workgroups,
Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup, responsible for analysis, interpretation, and visualization of prevention-related data.
Youth Engagement Workgroup focused on creating a collective voice for local youth to get involved and shape the priorities and processes of our prevention efforts.
Ad-Hoc Workgroup to address short-term and emerging topics as needed.
Lunch Planning Hour, a workgroup to discuss and plan upcoming events, community outreach, and coalition building in a forum-style, open discussion.

Port Angeles Healthy Youth Coalition offers supportive events and programming to advance youth substance misuse and abuse prevention in Port Angeles.
Grants awarded through the Washington Health Care Authority’s Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative allow us to deliver events and programming at no cost to the community, participants, and selected partners.

Overdose Awareness Day at BAART
Join us for a celebration of life on Overdose Awareness Day at BAART Port Angeles. The celebration will be a chance to raise awareness in our community and remember those who lost their lives due to overdose.
Free naloxone, lockable medication boxes and resources will be available for everyone.

Med Take Back Day and Safe Storage Event
While medicines help treat disease, manage chronic conditions, and improve health – unused and expired prescription medications pose a public safety concern. Opioids are now one of the leading causes of injury-related deaths in Washington State. 75 percent of opioid misuse starts with people using medication that wasn’t prescribed for them—usually taken from a friend or family member, often without their knowledge.
On Saturday, April 30th, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at 4th Street and Peabody, in the parking lot behind the Clallam County building, the Port Angeles Health Youth Coalition in partnership with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office will be providing Port Angeles residents with a combination Lockbag to take home at no cost, while supplies last.

No Shame In Your Brain Campaign Kick-Off
Youth in the State of Washington have faced many challenges over the course of the past two years. The newly launched “No Shame In Your Brain” campaign offers positive messaging and supportive resources for all you.
Port Angeles Healthy Youth Coalition with PAVE Washington will be handing out resource cards with easy to use QR codes to access vital, free support channels such as, Teen Link, Crisis Help Line, Suicide Prevention Hotline, and the Trevor Project Talk/Text.
